Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie
Lone Star Park
is a popular horse racing track and entertainment destination located just 1/2
mile north of Interstate 30 on Belt Line Road in Grand Prairie, Texas. Every
year, the park hosts two live racing seasons - the spring Thoroughbred season
from early April to mid-July and the Fall Meeting of Champions from early
September to mid-November. The park's construction was made possible by a
half-cent sales tax approved by Grand Prairie voters in 1992. A sports
authority known as the Grand Prairie Sports Facilities Development Corp. was
then created to own the track and lease it to a track operator. This is a big
park, a nice one, and a great location to visit.
